The opening of the £35m Torwood Street development near Torquay harbourside has been delayed yet again.
The long- awaited redeveopment scheme was originally scheduled for a May 2020 opening but work has been held up by the two lockdowns.
Developers the THAT group have now confirmed that it will be early 2021 before the Hampton by Hilton hotel, shops and office complex opens.
Meanwhile work is continuing on site and a 30ft tall palm tree has been installed outside the hotel entrance lobby.
One of the four ground floor units is a 2,500 sq ft Co-op store, and the supermarket chain had said it plans to open in early December.
The food chain is investing £615,000 in fitting out the store which will create 14 local jobs.
There are unconfirmed reports that a second unit will be a piano bar but progress on this again has been held up by the second lockdown.

A spokesman for the THAT group said: “There has been significant progress on site but I’m afraid our opening date has been pushed to early 2021. We don’t have an exact date at this stage but hope to have one in the next few weeks.”
