Police and ambulance were called after a woman collapsed and was lying unconscious in the street in South Molton town centre today.

Sgt Steve BJ of North Devon Roads Police Unit tweeted about the incident once the woman was being safely cared for by paramedics.

The police motorcyclist was called to South Molton along with ambulance staff..

He posted his video of Devon Air Ambulance taking off in the Cattle Market car park .

Later he added praise for the skill of the pilots and the good work of the air ambulance and asked the public to help support the charity which is run entirely on public donations without public funds.

He said about the incident: “Co-responded to an unconscious female in the street. The Devon Air Ambulance will land anywhere to help. Please consider supporting this fantastic charity. Female is now being cared for. “
