Communications Manager

Salary: Up to c.£50,000 dependent upon experience and location

Status: Full time, permanent

Location: Field/home Based with regular UK-wide travel required

Bell Cornwall Recruitment are currently searching for an experienced Communications Manager to join a brand new development office within nine world-leading technology centres designed to transform the UK’s capability for innovation. This role would have responsibilities involving communications for ground breaking research and development (R&D) and innovation implementation across the whole network – a fantastic opportunity not to be missed!

Key responsibilities include:

Facilitating consistent stakeholder engagement across both public and private sectors as well as the Government (principally UKRI/Innovate UK, the Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy Department (BEIS) and Whitehall).
Coordination of company-wide activity in order to maximise leverage and drive joint opportunities.
Lead on developing, implementing, coordinating and maintaining a wide-reaching communications programme of activity and stakeholder engagement encompassing a broad array of strategic communications elements and effective channels for their dissemination.
Ensure that all communication output is aligned with main national and global priorities and challenges, such as net zero, sustainability, health, productivity, skills etc.

Essential knowledge:

Communications campaigns
Project management
Strategic message development
Marketing copy and press release writing
Digital communications, including web and social media
Collateral development, including design management
Event management
Brand development and management


Managing and delivering strategic communications, which align with business strategy, using a range of tools and channels.
Outstanding content preparation, digital marketing, writing and proofreading skills, with attention to detail.
Work in communications across innovation industry, government, a demonstrable passion and excited by the prospect of promoting R&D and innovation.
social media strategy, content marketing management and website user experience management.
Demonstrable initiative and creativity to work independently, without close supervision.
Demonstrable ability to work under pressure, successfully planning and delivering multiple projects concurrently in a dynamic environment.
Proven ability to build positive and effective working relationships with a large number of individuals across multiple organisations, industrial sectors, disciplines and geographies.
