A college in North Devon has asked a number of students to isolate after a pupil has a confirmed case of coronavirus.
In a letter sent out to parents and carers last night (November 24), a spokesperson for Bideford College has confirmed that a year nine student has tested positive for coronavirus.
It comes after the principal sent out a newsletter last week (November 20) reassuring parents and carers ‘that there are still only the two positive cases’ within the school community.
All of the students who have been identified as in close contact with the pupil in year nine have been instructed to isolate for 14-days.
A spokesperson for Bideford College said: ”Unfortunately, I have this evening recieved notification that one of our students has tested positive for covid-19.
”We have traced the close contacts of the student, who is in year nine and informed them of the need to self-isolate until Tuesday, December 9.

”This will be 14 days since their last potential contact point of contact.
”All other students should continue to attend college as normal as we do not need to isolate any year group bubbles.”
