This is the moment Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service fought a huge blaze in Dawlish on Saturday night.
Crews from Dawlish and Teignmouth were called to a location near the golf club in the town at around 11pm – and had to take their fire engines ‘over the railway tracks’ to get to the isolated scene.
On arrival, they discovered a “very large” outbuilding that contained the golf club’s machinery and tools was alight.
Sadly, the building has been “completely destroyed” by the fire, crews say.

A statement from Teignmouth Fire Station says: “Appliances from Dawlish and an appliance from Teignmouth went to investigate a report of a building on fire, due to its location and access issues being the other side of the low railway bridge a further appliance from Teignmouth went along with a water carrier from Torquay.
“The crews used the railway crossing to get the appliances over the tracks and closer to the scene of the fire which was a very large outbuilding housing the golf clubs machinery and tools
“Sadly the building was completely destroyed by the fire.”
